From wandering the hidden gems of Buenos Aires to a bicycle tour of Rio de Janeiro, we have four fantastic excursions for you to choose from. They’re a wonderful way to experience these vibrant Latin American countries – don’t forget to pack your camera!
Free excursion: Buenos Aires like a local
Why we like it: It’s a brilliant way to get a peek into the real porteño way of life.
Set off on a half-day walking tour with your own private guide and learn all about the history and culture of beautiful Buenos Aires. Your guide will be a real porteño (resident of the city) who knows every barrio (district) like the back of their hand. Together, you’ll head off to explore some of city’s historical hotspots, as well as some of the favourite local hangouts of your guide!
This walking tour is a fantastic mix of experiences in one. You’ll get an inside glimpse of Buenos Aires, going far beyond the guidebooks and swerving the tourist crowds, allowing you to see a different side of the city.
Most of the tour is on foot but you’ll take public transport at times, to cover the longer distances. After a few hours with your personal guide, the tour will finish at one of your guide’s favourite restaurants, where you can grab a well-deserved bite to eat.
Free excursion: Argentina Experience Dinner
Why we like it: A cookery class mixed with dinner, wine, and new friends!
The Argentina Experience Dinner is a completely unique dining experience which cleverly blends exquisite food and wine, local culture and a social atmosphere!
Individuals, couples, families and groups from all over the world sit around two 14-person banquet tables, which are led and entertained by two guides, and our tour group’s friendly international team.
During the evening, you’ll make empanadas (pasties) and alfajores (cakes), eat juicy fillet steaks, taste boutique wines, and share yerba mate (tea) with new friends. There’s no better place to be!
Free excursion: Bike Tour in Rio de Janeiro
Why we like it: Learn fun facts about Rio as you tour the city’s breathtaking sights on two wheels!
With this excursion, you’ll enjoy a guided bike tour of Rio de Janeiro’s “zona sul”. In a small group, you’ll visit Rio’s main sights and, in just three hours, you’ll be able to cover what would take you two days on foot! Your fun and knowledgeable guide will give you information and fun facts about the sights, plus tips to better enjoy your stay after the tour.
Your 3-hour bike tour starts at Ipanema beach where you’ll be given your bicycle. After riding along Ipanema beach, you’ll visit the Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon and its fantastic views (don’t forget your camera!) From the lagoon, you’ll be able to see the Corcovado hill and one of Rio’s main landmarks: Christ the Redeemer. Cycling on, you’ll arrive at Botafogo beach from where you’ll see the Sugar Loaf hill in its splendor, before continuing to the hidden Vermelha beach where you’ll stop for refreshments (not included). After drinking a cold coconut, you’ll be ready to continue towards Copacabana beach and your final destination of Pedra do Arpoador, with its stunning view.
Free excursion: Bike Tour with Lunch at “Marius Restaurant”
Why we like it: A fun bicycle tour and a scrumptious lunch on Rio’s beautiful Copacabana beach!
This excursion follows the same route as the standard bike tour but includes lunch or dinner at the fantastic Marius Degustare restaurant at Copacabana beach!
The restaurant has been in Rio for many years and is known to many as a “must-visit” dining establishment. The restaurant is famed for its abundant choice of seafood and meat, big salad bar, and the unique and entertaining dining atmosphere.
*Minimum spend required in order to be eligible for the free excursion. One free excursion per person, per trip. Free excursion must be taken in the destination the tour is booked for. Valid for bookings confirmed between 01 July 2016 and 31 August 2016, for travel up to 31 March 2017.
